Metonomus — Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 18, 2026 · Last updated: October 18, 2026
Metonomus ("we", "us", "the Service") provides tools that help businesses manage their social media presence and advertising ("Business Users"). Business Users can connect their Meta accounts (Facebook Page, Instagram Business Account and/or Meta Ads account) to the Service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
This policy applies to Business Users, to people who interact with a Business User's Page, Instagram account or advertising ("End Users"), and to visitors of our website metonomus.io.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. Account and contact details (such as name and email address), information about your business, and materials you choose to upload or connect.
Information from connected accounts. When a Business User connects a Meta account, we access and store information made available through the permissions granted by the Business User, such as basic account and Page information (names, identifiers and profile pictures), published content and its performance metrics, product catalog information, advertising account information (such as campaigns, audiences and performance data), messages, comments and lead form submissions received by the connected account, and access tokens issued by Meta.
Information about End Users. When End Users interact with a Business User's connected account or advertising, we process the information needed to provide the Service to that Business User, such as messages, comments, public profile identifiers provided by the platform, and information submitted through lead forms. We process End User information on behalf of the Business User.
Other information. Technical information about use of the Service, and aggregated or de-identified information. We may also process information that is publicly available.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to provide, operate, secure and improve the Service; to publish content and manage advertising at the direction of Business Users; to provide reports and recommendations; to communicate with you about the Service; and to comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms. We may use aggregated and de-identified information to improve the Service. We do not sell personal information. Our use of information received from Meta APIs adheres to the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies; we use it only to provide and improve the Service, and we do not sell it.
3. How We Share Information
We share information with Meta as necessary to operate the Service through the Meta APIs the Business User has authorized. We share information with service providers that process it on our behalf and only to provide the Service, such as cloud hosting and infrastructure, website, authentication and content-processing providers. These providers are required to process information only for that purpose. A list of our service providers is available on request at support@metonomus.io. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect rights, property or safety. We do not share End User information with anyone other than the Business User it relates to, our service providers and Meta, as described in this policy.
4. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as the Business User's account remains connected to the Service and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Some categories of information, such as lead form submissions, are deleted automatically after a fixed period (currently 90 days). When an account is disconnected, or on request, we delete the information as described in section 6.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption of access tokens issued by Meta and encrypted connections. No system is completely secure. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
6. Your Rights and Choices, and Deleting Your Data
Business Users can disconnect their Meta account from the Service at any time, which ends our access to it.
Deleting your data. You can request deletion of your data by removing the Metonomus app in your Facebook or Instagram settings, by emailing support@metonomus.io from the address associated with your account, or by following the instructions at metonomus.io/data-deletion. We process deletion requests without undue delay and within 30 days. End Users can also contact the Business User they interacted with.
Depending on your location you may have additional rights under applicable law (such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation), including the rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@metonomus.io. You can also review and manage the access you granted to Metonomus in your Facebook and Instagram settings; see also Meta's Privacy Policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
7. Legal Bases
Where required by law, we process personal information to perform our contract with Business Users, for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Service, to comply with legal obligations, and with consent where consent is required. For End User information we act on behalf of the Business User.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. International Data Transfers
Information may be processed in countries other than your own, including outside the European Economic Area. Where required by applicable law, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
10. Our Website and Third-Party Links
Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. If we introduce them in the future, we will ask for your consent where required and update this policy. Our website and the Service may contain links to third-party websites, which have their own privacy practices; we are not responsible for them.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will post the updated version with a new effective date.
